People

Founded in 1929, Harold Whitehead & Partners is the longest established, independent, professional management consulting firm in the United Kingdom and was the first consulting group to gain the Queen's Award to Industry.

Naturally, the profile of clients and consulting activities has changed over those years. However, a few things remain constant such as our commitment to harnessing expertise, achieving client focussed results and applying acknowledged standards (we are all members of the Institute of Consulting, for example and strictly adhere to its code of practice). As Harold Whitehead himself put it in 1923, focused professionalism and the positive qualities of "service and constructive suggestion" still hold true for us today.

Like Harold Whitehead, we are practical, straight-talking and can demonstrate the value we add to our clients. Indeed, one of his principles was the desire to always ensure that a client was left feeling that they would ask him back. This legacy is still valued by us and encapsulates our primary goal as a consulting business.

Another of his principles that has stood us in good stead is to collaborate and to never pre-judge or assume. We know that every business is unique and that the decisions they face are specific to that particular situation. This precept is also central to our approach and, based on it we have delivered benefits worth many millions within both private and public sectors and provided annual savings many times in excess of project costs.
